Hey Shelby, I have a question about deadlifts

Hey Shelby You’re Deadlifts are beyond impressive. I usually used the mixed grip and alot more leg drive, however switched to using straps and more back and the number i could do for reps went down quite a bit. I’m also sort of tall, close to 6’3. My question is for my height should i switch to using rack pulls to incorporate more back rather than deadlifts from the floor? thanks


Rack pulls usually help keep the brunt of the work on the back rather than the lower body, especially for taller individuals.

Just make sure you keep the bar around knee level – much higher and it’s easy to make it more of a leg press movement, if that makes any sense (you can just lock your back in place and use quad drive to stand up with it.. which isn’t a very effective back building movement).
